• I’m trying to get my site going. While working in WordPress, clicking on certain items, I’m getting a blank page: menus, dashboard, etc. although others seem to be working. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

    Thanks!

  • The error logs of your server will tell you exactly what goes wrong. Most likely a PHP error triggers this, maybe caused by a faulty plugin.

I can’t even install a plug-in at this point because I can’t get to that page. How do I find the error logs?

    Thanks!

They’re in your web server. Probably accessible by an interface (webmin ? plesk ? cpanel ?), ssh or ftp.
Plugins can be deactivated by mysql or by changing the plugins dir name by ftp.

I’m using ftp. What does the error log look like, or named and where is it? I don’t see anything in the root. Plugins are all gone.

You have to ask your hosting provider if you do not know your settings, impossible to guess. An error log is a text file usually called error_log.
