@dieforyou You can avoid having duplicate titles or meta descriptions in paginated content by adding the %page% variable. We also have more information on using the template variables here: https://yoast.com/help/list-available-snippet-variables-yoast-seo/
i’m allready using %page% veriable for title’s. i have no problem with title’s. i have problem with “duplicate meta descriptions”
“duplicate meta descriptions” this error for categories.
site.com/category/test
site.com/category/test/page/2
Or you say:
use %%page%% veriable for description to? here: https://prnt.sc/TVFtDbrNmD79
Hi, @devnihil are you forgot me?
Can you share a screenshot of the meta description field for the category?
i shared allready but it was empty, im ussually writing something about category. for example: https://prnt.sc/8jLP3OMWqIBP
Thanks for the screenshot. I understand your category archive is paginated and Semrush is reporting duplicate meta description.
Defining unique meta descriptions for each page in a paginated series is impossible.
You could use the %%page%% snippet variable in the meta description field, so for your site.com/category/test/page/3, you’ll have something that looks like this:
<meta name="description" content="Page 3 of 4 | This is the meta description for my category archive pages." class="yoast-seo-meta-tag" />
