Support » Themes and Templates » Pages (categories) post limit

  • Hey,

On my site I’m using pages for different categories (by using [catlist name=…]). In my Setting > Reading, the number of posts is set to 10, which works fine for the frontpage, on my other pages it keeps showing all, which makes for long loading times on those pages.

    any help?

I use the Mystique R3 theme btw

  • Probably because you are using the default template and not a blog template for your category pages. Edit your page and see what templates are available with your theme (I know there are several included with ver 3 just can’t remember which specifically).

Tried to change that, but makes no difference

I dug out my copy of Mystique and surprisingly there is indeed no blog template except for the blog archives. However I did find a lot of shortcodes on the List Category Posts page that you might be able to use:

Specifically the [numberposts] shortcode. Unfortunately this does not include pagination. Just thought I’d give you something to start with. I will continue to look into it.

Mystique R3 is not a latest version of official Mystique theme (many bugs are not fixed yet), I request you to download latest Mystique version – and check if it has same problem.

actually mine says R3 but it also says 3.4.2, the site you posted is for 3.3.2

also, I’m not that experienced with all this stuff and quite happy with what I got atm, so I’m a bit afraid to make a change like that

Download the theme from above link and use it on local server and then check if problem in Mystique R3 or any other issue.
