Pages attach themselves automatically?!

    Hi Everyone,

    I’m not exactly a WordPress expert, but have been doing ok for the last 2 years until now.

    I have a portfolio-style website with only a few pages. It’s an Echoes theme I think.

    I have two portfolio categories – one for design, and one for 3D. There is also a ‘featured’ category for slides on the homepage.

    For some reason, the posts from the Design category have started showing up in 3D. I’ve deleted all the ‘Featured’ posts and that seems to have worked, but the 3D posts are now all jumbled and will still show up even when ticked as ‘uncategorized’?!

    the Design page is fine and doesn’t seem to have changed. It also seems to respond if I remove a post or set one to uncategorized. It’s just the 3D page that is sucking in posts from all the other categories, including uncategorized ones.

    I just updated to the latest version of WordPress a few days ago.

    I’m just going through and reposting the work in my 3D portfolio page and it seems to be pushing the refugee posts from the ‘design’ page down the list.. It’s still weird though, as those design posts are not attached to that page.

    Maybe the code you are using to attach these posts is not right.

    Wouldn’t it be easier to just ave 3D and design by categories and then when you click on that, the posts in that category display.

    Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but generally posts aren’t attached to pages.

    Sorry, yes. The posts are attached to categories, not pages.

    So there is a 3D category and a Design category.

    I just reposted all the images in the right order and assigned them to the 3D category. They pushed out the Design posts.

    But I just posted a new image in the Featured category, that shows in the homepage image slides and it also posts itself on the 3D page. This definitely didn’t happen before I updated the WordPress software

    so it seems that the 3D category is also displaying all the posts from every category. Even those without a menu button (i.e. ‘Featured’)

    …yet the Design category is doing as it’s told and only displaying Design assigned posts.
