So I just installed WordPress and I want to allow viewers to check out my resume if necessary.
However, said resume is an XML document and I use an XSL-Transform sheet to output the content. The XML document is different depending on the language is use. However the XSL-Transform is the same.
Now the pages in WordPress are saved in the database as i understand it from the Codex.
Does WordPress, in a way or another actually has some kind of object in the page that tells WordPress to open an xml document specified in the object and then use a XSL-Transform sheet specified also in the object and then print the result to the page ?
If not, I guess I ll just hack at the code and implement one :)
But if such a thing already exists, can you point me to it?
Also, just for future development if you think it can be an interesting idea.
These kind of objects could have the following information:
- Type: Contains the type of the object (XML, HTML, ...)
- ParamList: Unlimited list of params, depending on type they are interpreted differently
On the code side, regex would probably be able to do the job for each object type. Then interpret the parameters, get the result, remove what needs to be removed (ie: if type is HTML, one needs to only take the content inside the <body> tags (preferably)
Replace the object tag in the source that was obtained from the database by the result of the treatment.
Some kind of interpretation layer in a way
