# Page/Post Updating Visual

 * I have tested my site load time at Pingdom and Google Page speed and it performs
   very well. However, when staff updates/edits pages there is lag time where they
   are not sure if anything is happening or being updated, then of course the multiple
   mouse clicks again and then additional hang time.
 * Is there a plugin or way to show a nice popup or something similar that indicates
   the page is being updated and then gives a confirmation that the page has updated?
 * Thanks!

 * Well, typically an update should take less than a second. Something might be
   interfering or causing a process to hang.
 * Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme
   to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

 * 1 second is stretching it a bit. If I ran a clean install of WordPress and a
   standard theme, then the updating would be faster. But, how many folks are running
   that scenario with WordPress? Not many I bet.
 * Thanks

 * I have run a variety of WordPress installations with a variety of plugins and
   themes on a variety of hosting providers over the past 10 years, and I have never
   had an update take more than 2 whole seconds on the worst site.
 * So, back to actually fixing this, how did those troubleshooting steps go for
   you?

 * I haven’t went through that process yet. I’m sorry, but I’m not buying what you
   are selling. 2 seconds on localhost, sure. Ever hosted with Hostgator?
 * Thanks

 * No one is selling you anything here. Except free support from volunteers. 😉
 * This is just basic troubleshooting.

 * If you don’t want to try to find the source of your issue then that’s fine. But
   if you want to work with us then that process of elimination can help identify
   where the problem lies on your site.

 * > 2 seconds on localhost, sure. Ever hosted with Hostgator?
 * Yes, I have worked on a number of sites at Hostgator and other brands under their
   hosting parent company, Endurance International Group.
 * The post/page update times never exceeded 2 seconds. (and really, update times
   on localhost should be well below 1 second)
 * I thought you came here for support, which is why I started with basic troubleshooting;
   basic troubleshooting which should take probably 15 minute at most, yet this
   thread has been here with no action on your part for over a day.
 * If you do not want to work with us to solve the problem, then I suggest you hire
   someone to do the troubleshooting for you, via either [http://jobs.wordpress.net/](http://jobs.wordpress.net/)
   or [http://directory.codepoet.com/](http://directory.codepoet.com/) and do not
   accept any hire offers posted to these forums.
 * If you would like to continue here, for free, please reply with the results of
   the already provided basic troubleshooting steps, which for the sake of simplicity
   are as follows:
 * Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme
   to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
 * If you reply with the results, we will gladly assist you in correcting the problem
   you’re having.

 * I marked this as resolved. I know how to troubleshoot the issue. My original
   post was regarding a plugin which would give the end user a visual that that
   the page was being updated.
 * Thanks
