Page.php not being implemented by WP

Howdy!

I’ve created a custom theme and in it i’ve created a custom page.php file to be associated with the pages I create in the admin panel.

For some reason, everytime I go to my pages it loads the single.php template. I have no idea why but it seems like my pages are associated with the wrong template. I have a few custom types registered (which are all compatible with posts) but i dont know why I can’t just have the correct page.php show up properly.. I also dont want to have to create a ‘page template’ and keep selecting it from the drop down for each page.. i’d rather have WP do that.

Anyway, any insight would be awesome
