 * Start by sorting out the [validation errors](http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Ffestivalnet.co.uk%2Fevent%2Fsurfstock%2F).
   Then move onto the [CSS errors](http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?warning=2&uri=http%3A%2F%2Ffestivalnet.co.uk%2Fevent%2Fsurfstock%2F).

 * flipping heck what are all those errors!!! now my brain has snapped, not sure
   what to do now….? whatever website i post in that checker has hundreds of errors.
 * Do i have to go through and try and correct each one?
 * can i not just redcuce the width of the post [here](http://festivalnet.co.uk/event/surfstock-2/)
   so the sidebar goes into position
 * Thanks

 * I’d suggest that you start by correcting all of the missing end tag errors. One
   or more of these may be responsible for your current problems.
 * And just to prove that it is possible to have an error-free page on a WP site:
   [sample validation report](http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fquirm.net%2F).

 * As esmi says, sort the tags first. Layout issues are more often than not caused
   by forgetting to close or self-close tags. For XHTML 1.0, meta, img, link tags
   all need to be self closed (`<meta />` rather than `<meta></meta>`).
