• so..

once you make a new page.. you get the choice to VIEW it…

but it you EDIT it… you only get a PREVIEW… which is not the same hyperlink/URL…. not really useful sometimes..

also. since I am here.. why did the PAGE ID numbers go away?! that was a sad move for me… 🙁

  • For the Page ID, in Administration > Page > Edit, hover the mouse of the title of the page to see that ID.

Oops, that would be in Manage->Pages for 2.6.

wow.. I can’t find Administration or Manage!

I am referring to a wordpress install on a server and not a wordpress blog.. is that what you were talking about?

because in my dashboard/sidebar I see nothing like that… just Settings….

Sounds like you need to talk to your blog (or system) administrator.

    Look, these are my settings

Do you simply mean that I can manage the PAGES? well , that I do have, but I hover and nothing..

Let me draw a scenario for you:

I am told by a website owner to change something.

I use the search function and find the PAGE.

I locate the issue, and fix it, and then hit UPDATE.

All nice and fine and dandy right?

    Wrong.

I want to see my fix ups, but not in preview mode. I hate preview mode, because it creates its unique URL.

I know I am being picky, but I am sure that a simple “VIEW PAGE” button is soooo simple!!

    right? wrong?
