  • The preview=true URL is only seen by you. If you edit a new post, type a bit of text and hit the preview button to see how the page will look – that’s the page.

    Is the Google Analytics script in the dashboard too?

    The Google Analytics code is in the site header.

    Hm, I bet the large number of hits comes from me writing and editing the page, especially the formatting. Google Analytics is reading that as someone viewing the page, because I keep JavaScript turned on in my browser to facilitate using Gmail…

    I just created a filter that excludes my usual IP address. I’ll also set up a browser I can use for editing away from home, which has JavaScript turned off.

    No worries. I’ve got the Google Analyticator plugin installed and there’s an option to disable the code from being shown in the Admin section if it helps. There’s probably similar options on other plugins, just have a shufty around the settings pages.
