# Page url

 * Hello.
    Have a web site rather than blog. How do I eliminate the page title on
   the end of the url as I need to have people come to the website from typing in
   the Web address/url. However on the dashboard, even when I edit and delete the(
   site permalink words” home page”) to just end in the (.com) it will not delete
   as when you save, it comes back. Perhaps when you type the page address on the
   internet as (.com) it may well just go to the home page. Help please!

 * If I’ve understood correctly, you’re referring to the Page you’ve set to display
   as your home page. If that is the case, visiting your home URL will display that
   page as your home URL.
 * In contrast, visiting other Pages on your site will produce URLs like `yoursite.
   com/page-1/`
    `yoursite.com/page-2/`

 * Thankyou. So the fact that the permalink shows as ( How-to-cook-eggs-benedict-
   and-more.com/homepage. The words homepage do not really matter as when someone
   types in the web address to find it – they will be sent straight to the home 
   page. Hopefully this is right and if it is -thank you for your help. It helps
   if you know what you are on about.

 * The way to check is to visit your homepage. See if the right content is showing,
   and see what the URL is.

 * Hello. Thanks again for the reply. Just tried that and it goes to WordPress Hello
   World page ( which I think is a blog page) the headings are correct though so
   I need to get the front page sorted somehow ?? It should go to main front – sales
   page of the site!

 * So the first thing to check is Settings > Reading and check which Page is set
   for the Front Page option. This is where you should select the Page Template 
   you want visitors to see when visiting yoursite.com
