Try to remove the background color on the body and leave the background image.
It does seem better when the background is similar in color to the page. I’d like to keep the grass motif but don’t know how to remove the background color on the body. Any assistance would be appreciated. I’ve changed to a slightly less bold background but the same thing is occurring. As the page opens, especially in Getting To Know CIO, it reflects the print over the background image. http://www.caregiveronline.org
I am still seeing my pages shift open and I’m not using any background which is not my preference. I’d appreciate finding out how to be able to use a background and have the pages not be as clumsy when the pages open. http://www.caregiveronline.org.
I installed Advance Ajax Page Loader and it has resolved the problems. Presentation is stable with the background that I wanted. A timer is visible telling people to wait momentarily while the page loads. So far so good.

If you run into problems again, try a plugin that moves your JavaScript into the bottom of the page.
