Page Titles, Settings, Yoast – Can't get titles to work

  • We noticed that our title of our home page was duplicating and I’ve read other blogs on this but never found a solution.

If I put a title in General Settings of word press – it doesn’t seem to matter what my settings are in the YOAST SEO plugin, the title will duplicate on the home page.

If I remove the title from the general settings in wordpress, and hardcode the title in the SEO plugin on the HomePage, I get what I want on the homepage. But then none of my other pages inherit the title of the site following the name of the page.

I’ve read this http://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/#wpseo-plugin-titles and it’s either not giving me the answers, or not working.

I would have thought that if I put the title in the general settings of WP then use SEO plugin to insert variables into the pages. Doesn’t seem to be working.

    Any advice would be helpful
