#page styles won’t show

  • Evening everyone,

    I am using the standard Kubrick template with WordPress 2.1.1. I erased the background images because i wanted to edit my own styles.

    My idea was to have the background in a different color than the header, content frame, sidebar and footer. Easy thing, I thought, there is the “page” div

    <div id=”page”>

    that includes all the main divs. It does so in the source code.

    However, the styles i apply in the stylesheet for the page div (#page) won’t appear on my website. According to the source code everything seems correct. The “page” div is the first to be opened after the body-tag and the last to close. So why doesn’t that style show?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

    Jay
