# Page spacing question…

 * I just installed wordpress and it’s awesome.
 * I may have done something I should not have. I made it so there is no control
   side panel. I figured I’d rather just have just a blog where they can see the
   latest article at the top of my blog page.
 * So now I’m concerned with how much space it will take on a page? For instance
   as blogs and comments are made, it obviously takes up more space on the page.
   Does it ever automatically move things to a 2nd page and have a little link at
   the bottom to see page 2 or 2 for example? Or will old info eventually fall off
   and be inaccessible without the side control panel? Or will it move to a 2nd
   page and people can click a little link at the bottom that says “page 2 of 2”
   that will let you access the old fallen off info?
 * Thanks a lot! Hope that made sense after all the rambling…

 * Your blog will be set up to display a certain number of posts on a page. It should
   also be set up so that when that number is exceeded there is a “previous” link
   at the foot. Without a sidebar, however, it’s going to be a clumsy process for
   your visitors to find earlier posts. Those posts will also probably not get crawled
   by Google _et al_ since the PageRank of your oldest posts will be vanishingly
   small because of the number of clicks it takes to get to them.

 * So you would suggest putting the side panel back up somewhere? Would older posts
   really get looked at much anyway?
 * By the way, do I tell wordpress how many posts I want per page? Or is that something
   that has a default setting?
 * Thanks a lot!

 * Actually I found it in the admin area under “reading”
 * I see it for blog pages and syndication feeds. I guess I just put how many pages
   I want shown in the blogs pages field and that will be the limit…
 * Thanks!

 * Probably not more by way of people clicking on your “March 2002” link, e.g.,
   but people often read older posts of mine by finding them on Google. That’s what
   won’t happen if you keep burying your posts.
