I have a website that was cloned from a previous installation. Everything works well except for one page. When I attempt to access that particular page (/help-center) I get a white screen with blue links.

    Index of /help-center

    • Parent Directory
    • file.png
    • file1.png
    • file2.png
    • contact-page.html
    • etc

When I view the rest of the site, I don’t run into this problem and I’m perplexed as to what is causing it.

    I have tried the following:

    Deleting and recreating the page
Deleting the .htaccess file and resaving permalinks
    Creating a new .htaccess file
Grabbing the .php files from the cloned site (it works fine) and uploading them

The only thing I can get to work is if I access the page at /help center (adding a space). It will load and show fine, but the page name should be /help-center.

Anyone have a fix for this?

  • I just went through the same ordeal.

My issue (hopefully yours as well) was that there was actually a physical folder on the filesystem with the same name of the link I tried to use.

So you may check if you don’t have a folder named “help-center” on the filesystem of your site.

    Hope this helps!

Ah! You know, I checked and I do indeed have a folder of the same name.
Unfortunately, files are being hosted from it, but it’s a good fact to know.

    Thanks, nvarcha!
