Page Search within WP Admin not working

When I’ve used the search feature in Pages and Posts in the past, I’ve found it to be very useful – however for this new site I am working on – the search isn’t working. And sometimes after I put in a keyword to search for (like ‘insurance’ where I know I have several pages with that in their title) – the result list is empty and I’ve been moved to the “Posts” section of the admin, when I started out in the “Pages” section of the admin.

very weird. Any thoughts?
