Support » Plugin: Cookie Notice & Compliance for GDPR / CCPA » Page reload triggers 503 errors

    Hi,
I was getting frequent 503 errors — my hosting provider attributed it to heavy crawling by Googlebots…but I slowed down my crawl rate and added some robots.txt disallows to block the bots from places they didn’t need to be crawling…

    and the 503 errors stopped.

However, right around this time I was also working on other issues and had disabled the cookie notice plugin. But now I reenabled it and find that when the page reload option is on, I start getting 503 errors again. It seems like the cn-reload triggers a 503 error.

Is there any workaround for this?
    Thanks
    Cheryl

  • Hi Cheryl,

I’m actually having the same issue on my website. I had installed the Cookie Notice for GDPR & CCPA and the next day the website was supper slow and triggered to a 503 error, which I thought was due to OVH server. I disabled the plugin and the error stopped… Were you able to fix the issue using the plugin?

    Best,
    Margaux
