Page redirect error

Hi., I have installed new theme for my wordpress blog .
I have created all pages and used permalinks custom structure to link the pages, but the redirect option is not working i.e., the link from front page to about page is not working, it is happening in all the pages.
The redirect from about page to home page is working but the reverse is not working and link from about to remaining pages is not working.
It is showing fallowing error
HTTP Error 404.0 – Not Found
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

I have used custom structure permalink /%category%/%postname%/
please help me on this.
