# Page ranking question

 * I have built a website for a small physiotherapy business and the client does
   not have the time to create and maintain any social network sites such as Facebook,
   Linkedin, Twitter etc. Links to external sites is difficult as the client does
   not want to link to similar businesses and so a number of Google SEO requirements
   cannot be met. The site has been listed in a number of local directories and 
   the problem is that these directory listings rate higher then the website and
   I can only guess that this is because of their better ‘linking’ properties? I
   use Yoast SEO to improve page quality. Given my restrictions is there a way to
   at least rate better than the local listings for the site?

 * I’m no expert, but I think the site will struggle.
 * Although back links are really good, sites that are regularly adding fresh, interesting
   content will do well organically. Good content will attract the best kind of 
   links and social network activity.
 * I have a similar site that is for a small psychotherapy business. The site owners
   get the whole content thing but are just so difficult to persuade to add content.
   There is one local competitor that always beats them on searches and that’s pretty
   much because they post frequently.

 * Thanks for the feedback, it reassures me I am not missing something. I think 
   that small businesses are at a bit of a disadvantage with Google’s ranking methods.
