Page-protect password not accepted by Safari/iPad

    Password not accepted by Safari/iPad on password-protected page when URL is masked by redirect.

    URL e-timps.com redirects to agcsystems.tv/etimps/ with masking, i.e., the URL appears in the URL bar as the re-directing (not landing) domain. When a password-protected sub-folder page is accessed using link1 (navigate to the “contact” page), the password is rejected (password = go!); however, when the same page is accessed using link2, the password is accepted.

    Failing conditions:

      WordPress 4.9.5
      iPad MC744LL/A
      iOS 9.3.5

    This appears to work properly on other browsers, e.g., Chrome/iPad.
