“page numbers” when post too long

How can publish a post on more than one page in case it is too long? Right now when I upload a long text it shows the whole text on the page so readers have to scroll all the way down to read the full article. Is there a way to include pagenumbers? Like after 500 words it say 1|2|3|4.
