Page Numbering / Pagination

What’s a good plug-in for adding page numbering at the bottom of each page or post? I only have older posts / newer posts right now. I mean a plug-in that you just simply install, activate, choose the settings and go. One that does not require having to change the theme. And also one that doesn’t sneakily plant spam words in your header.
