Support » Plugin: Passster - Password Protection » Page no longer reloads after password so doesn’t show our video anymore

  • Resolved jjbbrr

    Hi there – we’ve used this plugin for a few months and its been great, it’s worked very well. We have an unlisted Youtube video and controls behind it. Previously when the password was entered, it reloaded the page and Youtube video and controls appeared. The new version doesn’t reload the page so our Youtube video and controls aren’t appearing. The password part works but once you enter it nothing else appears. We’ve rolled back to the previous version for now.

    Would it be possible to add an option to still reload the page like it used to? Even in just the Pro version?

    This is the code that we’ve been using so far in case there are any issues there you can see:

    [passster password=”1234″]
    <p>Devices watching now: <span id=”watch-count”></span></p>
    <div id=”player”></div>
    <button class=”ytbutton” id=”play-button”>Play</button> <button class=”ytbutton” id=”pause-button”>Pause</button> <button class=”ytbutton” id=”mute-button”>Mute</button> <button class=”ytbutton” id=”unmute-button”>Unmute</button>
    <br>Please use these buttons to control the video.<br><br>

    Hey @jjbbrr,

    I added a compatibility mode in 3.3.2 in Passster->Settings->General
    when you activate the option “Deactivate Ajax and use page reload.” it doesn’t use ajax and instead reloads the page as older versions did it.

    Best regards,

    Thank you very much for taking this feedback on board. We’ve updated to the latest version and it is working again as we had it previously. Excellent!

    Hi there – just realised the reload appears to only work for desktop. I hadn’t checked mobile when I made my last post. The deactivate ajax appears to not work for mobile devices. So I’ve again reverted to an older version so that it reloads on mobile.
