Page Loses Connection and won't Update

I have a page with several audio files, two a week each week back to January 1, that loses its connection every time I try to update it. It didn’t do it at first, but it has become worse the last few weeks. The error reads, “Connection Lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.” That stays up generally until I close my browser in frustration.

Is there a limit on how many files can be on a page? I updated to the latest version, but that hasn’t helped. I also tried removing more older audio files, but it didn’t help.

Other threads said it was a problem with version 3.6, but that was several months ago, so I’m hoping it’s fixed. My host is a small mom & pop type company, but the other sites on them are fine and it’s only this one page giving me trouble.
