page loading question

First, I was wondering if anyone had some advice to for me with respect to quickening the loading of my index page. Secondly, I was wondering if someone could help me script my page so that it doesn’t load until every image has completely loaded, i.e. so that IE doesn’t load my site piece-meal. My site is at http://www.d-anconia.com.
