Page Loading Issues: VTT files and Analytics Issue

Dear Expert,

I have now noticed 2 issues regarding Page loading:

1. Is VTT mandatory for the web stories?
After I have uploaded the VTTs in web stories, I thought things are done and dusted…even it passed the AMP test. But then when I tested in the https://search.google.com/test/rich-results I saw there were page loading issues with respect to the VTT files.
Here is one such web story where I am facing the problem: https://indiatrotter.com/web-stories/lakshadweep-island-tours/

However, if I remove the VTT files then the page loading issues are solved. So, is it okay to not have VTT? Will it impact the performance of the web story?

2. In another set of web stories, I face a different type of page loading issue, which I find in the rich results test. Eg of such page is: https://indiatrotter.com/web-stories/plan-lakshadweep-trip-booking/
It looks like some issue with the Google Analytics.

Sadly my web stories are not appearing in discover or even not ranking high in the google. I suspect this page loading issue can be the reason.
If you can kindly help me resolve.

Dear team,

Just an addendum to the previous issues

1. I have removed the VTT files from the above link to resolve the issue. But please let me know if you want me to put back to replicate the issue at your end. Also, once you have a resolution, I will put the VTT file back

2. The second type of error for that particular page seem to no longer exist. But I found the issue in several other web stories like

https://indiatrotter.com/web-stories/top-10-cultural-destinations-in-india/
etc etc

Hi there,

Adding captions to videos is a best practice to help readers better understand your story.

Do you have a screenshot of the exact error you get when adding captions?

If the rich results tool has issues fetching certain resources like the VTT files, I recommend checking the tool’s help section (the question mark icon in the upper corner), specifically the section named “Page has unloadable resources”.

At the moment, all your stories seem to validate just fine in the tool.

My sincere apologies for not coming back.
This is the screenshot https://snipboard.io/M8K9oR.jpg which I had shared and it shows some page loading issues with Google Analytics.
Not sure how I can resolve it. Can you please help?

The Analytics reports are fine…no issue with that.

@indiatrotter The “Page Partially Loaded” notice comes from third-party services such as analytics tracking tools. Running your stories through the Rich Results test results in a redirection error for your Google Analytics script: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results?view=fetch-info&id=F6glX-B_hks8c3_rHIH0Jg which could cause the Analytics issues that you’re seeing, as Analytics isn’t able to successfully track visits.

These issues can be caused by optimization plugins and/or CDNs. Sometimes you can try temporarily deactivating one or both and monitor your real-time Analytics report to ensure that traffic is being counted as expected for your Web Stories.

If you’re still having issues, I’d recommend contacting Google Analytics support as this does seem that this could be a broader Analytics issue that would affect more than just your Web Stories.
