Page load speed slowed after plugin uppate?

    Hi my page load speed declined a lot this past week after I updated two plugins (one of which was Akismet). I just deactivated Akismet, and the page load speed so far has been back to normal.

    Will recheck speed again later, but wanted to know if your recent plugin update is slowing down sites by any chance?

    Also, how can I revert back to the older version of Akismet if I want to do so?

    The latest version of Akismet shouldn’t affect pagespeed at all.

    If you can share specific download times and page sizes from before and after updating, that would be very useful.

    Ok thanks. I guess no way to go back a version within WordPress itself via 1 click. I will wait another day to see what happens.

    Do not want to post my site address here. Page load speed is crazy slow 1/3 of the time, fast 1/3 of the time, normal time remaining 1/3 of the time. Strange.

    Did you ever get a definitive answer on whether Akismet was slowing your site?
