Hopefully I am posting this in the correct location…
I have been building a community news site, that pulls in newsfeeds from everywhere. There is a classifieds, events, business directory, local deals, shopping, birth announcements, etc.

My page load speed (home page) without any users is no less than 6 secs. Tried optimization images, cache etc for the last several weeks cannot get it down.

My question is….if I was to use multisite with a classifieds, directory, deals, and disable the plugins from the ‘main site’ would that help, hurt or not change page load speed from the main site?

Thank you for any input you can provide.

  • Hey!

This problem could be linked to some of the plugins you are using. It could also be linked to your webhost. Some webhosts can’t really handle Multisite to the best capacity, causing it to be slower (most likely on shared hosting). Also, It’s best to leave the plugins on the main site, network activating them will only make the site slower :).
