Support » Fixing WordPress » Page load flashing using full background image in Twenty Eleven

  • I would like to know if this issue has been resolved. I have read past forums related to this topic but with older versions of Twenty Eleven. I noticed that it is severe in IE 10. No problems with Firefox. I wish IE would behave the same way. Here is my website so you can see for yourself what is doing:

    Click trough each menu tab to see it.
    Before, I had a solid image background and when I tried to use a full image background the problem began; or perhaps not noticeable. Here is the code I borrowed from another site:

    background: url(images/bg.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;
      -webkit-background-size: cover;
      -moz-background-size: cover;
      -o-background-size: cover;
      background-size: cover;

    The size of the jpeg image I am using for the background is 777kb. Is this too big? I tried copy and pasting the code from Firebug, which is slightly different, but the flashing was still there.

    I am using the Twenty Eleven child theme to make these changes.
    Any suggestions?

  • Update:
    It seems that the Contact page gives me the most problems. I noticed that if I visited my site from the dashboard, the page flashing was noticeable on all menu tabs. When I logged out of Word Press Admin, I noticed that the problem was only noticeable in the contact page. Could it be the Google map that’s creating the problem?

    Apparently this is not consistently true.
