    Do you use page-links-to plugin?

Hello. Have you resolved your redirect issue yet? One possible solution is the Speedy Page Redirect plugin:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/speedy-page-redirect/

β€’ Choose between permanent (301) and temporary (302) redirects.
β€’ Support for custom post types out of the box.
β€’ Filters for customizing some settings.
    β€’ Compatible with WP Multisite.
β€’ Fully translatable. Included languages: English, Dutch.

    Good luck!

    Hi,
I have not resolved it yet and have no idea what a page link plugin is. I can create any other Page name and it directs it to what it want it’s just when I use the word Shop for a Page name it redirects it to the homepage.

I will look at that plugin and see if I can figure it out. Thank you.

For example, if I use the word Shoppe for a Page name it shows up what I want. http://www.bluelilydesign.net/shoppe where when I use the word Shop it directs it to the main page. http://www.bluelilydesign.net/shop
I can use any other word and it does what I want, it’s just the word shop is being a pickle. Again, not sure why…

I’m going to download the plugin that was suggested and see if that works. Thank you.

I downloaded the link that was suggested above, activated it and not sure what to do with it now. When you have a minute, if you’re able to help? Thank you.

[Moderator Note: No bumping, thank you.]

Sorry to hear you’re still having issues with this.

Now that you’ve downloaded the plug-in, upload the speedy-page-redirect folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.

Then activate the plugin through the β€œPlugins” menu in WordPress.

Any other questions please let us know.

Hi Lorbach, thank you. I have downloaded and activated the plugin but it’s still not working. Not sure what I’ve done to where it won’t use the word shop. Maybe I will call the one hosting the website and see if they can help me, thank you again.

    (@lorbach)

Did you have a chance to call your host and get this resolved?

    bluelilydesign

    (@bluelilydesign)

Yes, they said they don’t have anything to do with how WordPress works they are just a host. They can’t go behind the scenes. Not sure why not but oh well. πŸ™‚

    Thank you for asking.

Go to your admin, and look at pages. choose the home page and see what it’s ‘slug’ is : betcha it’s set as shop!

If not, next place to look is appearance > customize. Check the front page is set to be whatever static page you want people to land on when they type in your URL.

Thank you for your help. Last night I deactivated a few plugins and it just started working late last night. It must have been one of those. So, for now, it’s working. I appreciate your help Lorback and wiresplus! Thank you! πŸ™‚
