Support » Fixing WordPress » Page is not showing up in menu/title list

  • Hi there,

I’m really struggling to get my head around this- I may just be missing something simple.

I’ve just added an new page and when i publish it, it does not appear in the bar/menu list where the other pages appear near the top, with the “Home” and “About”.

The page is listed as public, it’s order is set to 0 (like the rest), has no parent page, and it’s on default page template.

Everything is exactly the same as the other pages listed but yet it does not appear?!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Hi esmi,

I deactivated all plugins and it had no effect.

I changed the theme, from Socrates to Twenty Ten and yes the page suddenly appeared… so it must be something toi do with the Socrates theme? this is highly annoying as the theme was part paid for along with the construction of the website- and also the different optins and bits and pieces on the websites fit will with the Socrates theme, so I’m unwilling to change it… do you know why the Socrates theme is doing this then?

No idea. I’d suggest contacting the person who carried out the work for you.

I’m gonna contact Socrates direct as it’s probably more to do with them then the person who constructed it!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction anyways…
