    Hello,
When I create new pages a “404 Error File Not Found” page shows up. The error page says: “The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.”

Steps I took to try and resolve:
    1. Went to permalinks and resaved
    2. Deactivated all my plugins

Alas, the problem persists. I am at a loss at what to do.

    My website is http://www.shannonontheroad.com

Does someone know what might be causing the problem? Please help!

    Thank you!!

    UPDATE:

I found that when I change permalinks back to Default setting the page no longer has a 404 error file. But that means I am unable to customize my page and post links.

Does anyone know how I can use the “post name” permalinks and not get a 404 error?

    good question!

The issue is fixed – I deactivated my theme “Nectar” and changed to “Twenty Fifteen.” Then I reactivated “Nectar” and somehow the problem resolved itself. After reactivating Nectar I was able to change the permalinks to “post name” and the 404 error page is gone.
