Support » Theme: Fruitful » Page Formatting not showing when published?

  • Resolved eranno79

I’m using the Fruitful theme for a website I’m working on for my husband. When I publish a page on the site, all formatting seems to be lost on the live site. Spacing, font etc. all looks great on the back end, but once published, all text is squished together and bold/italicized/underline text options are all lost. Anyone know what’s happening here?

    For example, on this page:

Text in the left column should have a line of space before the “Please contact us”, and the heading “Email us” in the right column is not bolded.

And on this page: we had to get creative using bullet points in order to create new paragraphs.

Anyone know what’s going on here? I’m not great with html or style sheets, so if possible, please make replies as detailed as possible! Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Are you using the Visual editor to create your pages? I was surprised when I inspected your site that instead of paragraph tags, DIVs are used instead. And those DIVs have inline styles that set the font color to black. That’s the primary reason why the spacing isn’t working correctly. At first I thought it was WP Easy Columns that was doing all of the converting, but I tried installing it and didn’t get the same results. Is there another plugin, or a special editor that you are using, to create your pages?

Thanks for looking into this for me! I have figured it out – thanks to your help! Your mention of a plugin possibly affecting the formatting got me looking at what I had installed…

and it turns out that the plug-in I used while doing the initial design of the site, Maintenance, was affecting the formatting. I’ve deactivated it, and now all is well!

    Thank you for your help!
