# Page formatting gone?

 * I have a very simple website up and running. [http://richdespresdds.com/](http://richdespresdds.com/)
 * This morning I went to add a new page, [http://richdespresdds.com/?page_id=172](http://richdespresdds.com/?page_id=172),
   but it is not displaying correctly.
 * I turned comments off on the screen options, but the comment box continues to
   show.
 * Also, my sidebar isn’t showing.
 * Can someone tell my why and how to fix it?

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder and wp-
   config.php & root .htaccess files – from a **fresh** download of WordPress. Make
   sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new
   ones.

 * Thanks, I will start by trying your top two suggestions. If that doesn’t work,
   I’ll be back with more questions as I don’t really think I know how to do the
   bottom two suggestions. (I use wordpress because it is easy for non-techies like
   me!) 🙂

 * No luck with the first two options. I really only had a handful of plugins activated.
   The page is now showing the original theme, no change.
 * Not sure how to do the other things you suggested.
 * So here’s another question. In my other site,in the edit page area, right hand
   side, there’s the publish box, then underneath that are page attributes, featured
   image, sidebar selection…..
 * And under the box to add copy, there are theme SEO settings, layout settings….
 * These boxes/areas are not there in the website I’m having problems with. Any 
   idea why? How to fix it?

   steps. I did post a link to assist you in step 3.

 * Esmi,
    Hey just a quick Thank you! I am not comfortable going into PHP etc. But
   my husband is. He took a look at your suggestions this evening and quickly found
   and fixed the problem.
