• I have been reading different forums and I cannot seem to get a clear solution to the problem of creating a static stand-alone page with the header, footer and sidebar of my site theme. The purpose of this to be able to run MySQL queries and embedd all that into this static page. It is my understanding that the WRITE tool in the admin portal is to create pages which have the content stored and showed when that particular page is displayed. I just want to create physical .php pages with the theme and store them in a members folder.

I have read through the template section as well but can’t seem to find something that fits the problem.

I am new to wordpress, so please excuse me if it all sounds trivial. Thanks again for any help!

  • You need to be editing way outside admin. Locally usually.

“You need to be editing way outside admin. Locally usually”.

    what does that mean?

My point – poorly expressed – was that the Write Page doodad in WP admin is obviously not suitable here. You need to edit from scratch. Prolly create a new template and use the wp exec plugin or similar.
