    Hello,

    I’ve an issue with the sidebar invading the bottom of the main content portion of the page. It happens when the page’s content is too short (does not require scrolling) and the sidebar is too long (requires scrolling).

    You can see a pic of the issue here, or see the issue reproduced on this page. It works fine after reloading but if you navigate to the “Courses” category from the sidebar, the issue arises.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Thanks for using Author!

    I’m having some trouble recreating this same issue when I visit, but I think this might be happening because the footer is hidden.

    Please trying removing this code from your custom CSS:

    .site-footer {
      display: none;
    }

    And replace it with this instead:

    .design-credit span {
      display: none;
    }

    If this doesn’t help, please let me know what browser you’re using when you experience this issue.

    Hello Ben,

    Thank you for your quick reply and sorry about my late one (New Year activities caught me).

    I have tried replacing the CSS as you suggested but the issue persisted.

    The issue takes place when using Mozilla Firefox. I have verified that with Google Chrome it works fine.

    Thanks for the extra info. I visited in Firefox, but I’m still not able to recreate this same issue. I’m wondering if a browser extension you have installed is affecting the site since this is only happening in Firefox. Try opening a private browser window in Firefox and see if the error still occurs (this should disable the extensions). Alternatively, clearing your browser cache could also help. There’s a chance that a Javascript file Author needs isn’t being loaded yet after initially installing it.

    hello here! i have the same problem.
    I use firefox and i have the free theme in a local host.
    if i scroll down and then up. After that i cant scroll down again. i took out the footer with the custom css but the problem persist. pic

    Thank you.

    Try adding this CSS and let me know how it works for you:

    @media all and (min-width: 950px) {

      .main {
        min-height: calc(110vh);
      }
    }

    I’ve verified that the problem still takes place with a private browser.

    When adding the extra CSS that you proposed, the cropped main content does not show at first glance. But after scrolling, there’s still a similar issue. (pic). It seems the issue takes place when the sidebar is more lengthy than the main content area.

    I’m using Firefox 84.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.

    Anyway, the extra CSS is a good workaround. Thank you!

    Hello Ben! i still have the same problem as onesc. pic

    Okay thank you for all the feedback on this. I think I’ve narrowed it down and have found a good solution, but I’ll need to release it through an update for Author. I’ll try to have this update fast-tracked and published soon.

    This CSS isn’t perfect, but it might help more than the previous snippet while waiting for the Author update:

    @media all and (min-width: 950px) {

      .main {
        min-height: 1500px;
      }
    }

    Just published it! Make sure to clear your cache after you update so that the new Javascript can load, and then it should be working well.

    amazing! it works perfect now!
    thanks for all ur help!!
