    Hi,
WP, which I use on my site recently automatically upgraded to 4.5. I noticed after that, I can no longer edit pages like before, Page Builder doesn’t appear to be working, I no longer have individual boxes for all of my content on a given page, but it is all in one giant box (though on some devices it has showed NO content). Also, while it looks ok now, last night, many pages were a mess, all formatting was missing, and ALL of my homepage content was GONE. As of right now that appears to be returned to normal, but I still cannot edit pages properly, page builder is just not there. If I delete and re-install the plug-in, I am concerned that I will lose off of the content I already put in them. Please advise? The site is tarotliza.com

Ditto here and my client wants me to update their site. 🙁 All I see is white space, the “Add Section”, “Add Element”, “Templates” buttons and the dots trying to roll in a circle, only it isn’t moving.

I am using Chrome on Windows 10, the website is hosted on Ubuntu and the theme for the site is Zeta from Themesholic.

    Thanks,
    Bud

    Same here!
Still working on my site(never update to 4.5) then today I can’t click to “Add Element”.
Can’t see the content in page builder editor

    Hi Everybody,

I’m going to start with the last two replies. I’m not too sure if you two are using our plugin as there’s no “Add Element” button in SiteOrigin Page Builder. For reference, this is what the SiteOrigin Page Builder looks like. We have an “Add Widget” button, but no “Add Element” button. Are you using a Think Up Themes plugin maybe?

    Now, jeffrey9999, reinstalling the plugin will not cause a data loss unless you save a page during the reinstallation period – even an autosave counts so close any post types you may have open. If this doesn’t resolve the issue please try a Plugin conflict test;

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

All of the content appears on the site but when open the page editor, it may not show the content, How do I get page builder to work without losing all of the content already on the pages? If I delete and re-install the plug-in, will I lose all of the content that I already put into them?

    Hi inaztulip,

    As mentioned in my previous response you will not lose the contents of your page builder powered post by reinstalling the plugin unless you save it during the reinstallation process – even an autosave counts so close any post types you may have open. If this doesn’t resolve the issue please try a Plugin conflict test;

    Hi alexgso,

Thank you for the quick response! Yes, mine is not SiteOrigin’s… it came bundled with the Zeta theme… which is no longer available. If anyone knows where I can download an old copy, I would like to get it. The site was designed by someone else and I don’t have a copy of it.

    Thanks,
    Bud

BTW, (off topic) I just made a new site live using your free BootFrame theme. It is a really nice theme! Thanks for it!

Hmmm, I must be wrong again! But it did come bundled with some of your plugins 🙂

    Hi manzwebdesigns,

I hate to say this mate but you might be out of luck. 🙁 Do you happen to have a screenshot of the previous page builder or anything like that? I might be able to point you in the right direction but without something to go on I’m not going to be of much help.

Also, depending on where you purchased the theme you may be able to ask the theme developer for a copy of that page builder. It’s a bit of a stretch due to the unsupported nature but it’s definitely an option you should consider.

Don’t worry about the mix up mate. We’re kind of use to it by this point. 😉

    (@manzwebdesigns)

Yeah, that’s okay. I don’t have a screenshot, but it was MD Page Builder and I can’t find a download for that either. 🙁

I think I am going to recommend the client that I can’t update their theme and we should replace it; mainly because the current site has theme builder shortcode tags all over it and for better security.

    Thanks,
    Bud

I took a screenshot of the plugin information from the Plugins section, but I don’t see a way to share it here, so here is what it says:

MD Page Builder Page Builder and Shortcodes for Themesholic Themes.

    Hi manzwebdesigns,

Maybe try contacting Themesholic? They may have an older version of the plugin outside of that you might be out of luck. 🙁

    Shameless plug: Checkout Vantage. 🙂

Can I chime in here for a second? I am using a ThinkitUp Theme that came with a “PageBuilder” plugin. It says it was created by SiteOrigins so I assume its your product. When I upgraded to the 4.5 version, I noticed that any pages that already had the plugin populating fields, I didn’t get the tab that says “PageBuilder”. I only get visual and text editing. When I try to go to a page that doesn’t already have the page builder populating fields, the tab is there for me to work with.

The issue I read in another post seems to be due to an issue found during beta testing. The issue was fixed and if people are using version 2.4.4 or higher, it will work on their theme. The program is, I don’t have “Page Builder” I have “Page Builder By SiteOrigin (ThinkUpThemes Compatible)” It happens to be version 1.3.10 in SiteOrigin terms.

I did go to the SiteOrigins website and download version 2.4.6, deactivate my current plugin and activate the new one. When I did that I got the page builder to come up with the rows and widgets in the right place, just without all the information in the rows and widgets. It says the information is missing.

Now, I question is this. Is there a way to fix it for people like me who purchased a theme and got your product as an add on, or do I have to wipe my entire site and use the stand alone version of your plugin to make my site?

    Fredjclaus

    (@fredjclaus)

Just to let you all know I was able to fix my own issue. I went to the place I purchased my theme and they had an updated version of that plugin on their site. I removed all evidence of the original plugin installed and activated the new one and I’m back to working order.

    Hi Fredjclaus,

The ThinkitUp Theme page builder is a fork of our page builder which is based on pre version 2 of SiteOrigin Page Builder. If you wish to retain that style of page builder you’re sort of stuck with that page builder as the vast majority of forks of our Page Builder are based on version 2 Does this make sense?

It should be noted that we don’t openly provide support for people using forked versions of SiteOrigin Page Builder as, well… we can’t. There could be hundreds of changes like in the ThickitUp Theme builder that we have zero control over and thus can’t really support it due to the unfamiliarity of it.

    Hopefully this makes sense.
