Support » Plugin: Page Builder by SiteOrigin » Page Builder ID's and classes renamed after update

We’re about to launch our site and had to customise our css but when we updated WP to 3.6.1 this morning, the Page Builder plugin IDs / classes changed and now the homepage no longer works.

We downgraded the update back to 3.6 but the Page Builder plugin is still showing the newer coding…

    Why rename IDs / classes?
Is there a script you can offer for disgruntled users to run on their css after you update?

    Thanks,
    Simon

    Hi Simon

Sorry to hear you the update was an issue for you. I actually made this update for 2 reasons.

    1) Each div now has a globally unqique ID. This means that if you specify custom CSS for a Page Builder DIV, you can be sure that you’re only effecting that specific DIV. With the old IDs you could style a DIV on one page and it’d also effect the DIVs on other pages.

    2) A lot of people requested the ability to show more than one post/page on a particular URL. This wasn’t possible before because different posts/pages used the same IDs.

For now, you can update your CSS and rest assured that we wont be changing them again, or you can roll back to an older version of Page Builder.

    Again, sorry about that.

No need to apologise – makes sense… just that we had to outsource the rewriting of the css due to lack of resources. Was hoping to find a find/replace script… but great product nonetheless!
    …and super support!
    Thanks 🙂

One common example is on your blog archive page when displaying a lot of Page Builder built posts. I’m also hoping to see some one page themes support it one day.
