Page as a link to a Category in Menu Bar

  • I have the menu bar set to display some Pages. I want to have one page actually point to a category. I created a category where the title is:

    Tutorials

    with nothing in the body.

The Atahualpa theme allows that but it creates a sort of double layer button. The top half is empty but is actually a link to a non-existent page called Tutorials, the bottom half says Tutorials and goes to the category page.

you can see this visually at http://podfeet.com

How do I get rid of that sort of phantom page link above the real Category page?

    thanks!
    Allison

  • From what I understand looking at the “post_classes” of your site the blank menu which links to http://www.podfeet.com/blog/tutorials-2/ is a page with page ID 4333.

Try looking for it in the pages section and delete it.

Also can you go to Appearance > Menus choose your menu (with the tutorials menu expanded) take a screenshot and upload it to imgur.com. This will give a clearer idea of what is wrong.

Thanks for digging in Jesin – oddly didn’t get an email notification so didn’t know you’d responded. note to self – check profile settings.

I’ve deleted everything that said Tutorials in Pages. I don’t have any menus set up in Appearances > Menus right now but here’s a screenshot as requested: http://imgur.com/1lNGspV

I experimented in my theme of adding a second menu for Categories, and it doesn’t have this weirdness but I don’t have very many interesting categories so it’s a lame 2nd menu that I’ll be getting rid of.
