• I have a page that reports a 404 no matter what I set permalinks to.

Other pages all work. I have deleted and rewritten .htaccess. Changed Permalinks to “Default” and it 404s there too.

Clicking “view page” or “preview” on the page edit screen both produce 404s.

    Any ideas would be welcome!

Does it work when published? As sometimes ‘preview’ doesn’t work properly.

Also, check the editable URL from the post page (the bit you can edit, just about the post title) and make sure that it corresponds to menu items, links etc).

Does not work with published, no.

And the URL on the page edit screen changes if I change the permalinks, but still 404s. all other pages change with the permalinks settings and work.

Tried changing the slug, still 404.

have you tried deleting the page, deleting permanently from trash and starting a new page with the same content?
