Page update ONLY with classic editor

    Morning people. I can ONLY update, add a page to an instance of WordPress if I install and activate ‘Enable Classic Editor’, other wordpress instances on my server are OK
    I Have deactivated ALL plugins and regressed to the base theme BUT without the classic editor enabled I still cannot perform any updates, the message that I receive is ‘Updating failed. You are probably offline.’
