P2 Post limit to 140 characters

Hello I’m creating a new social network about an italian soccer team.

I’m using P2 for this and I need to change the code to limit the characters of the post/status to 140 or something.

How is that possible? (please be very descriptive because I’m more a graphic designer than a code master 😉
