Support » Fixing WordPress » p tag woes

  • Hi, I’ve just recently switched to wordpress for my personal website, and while I’ve been creating a custom theme for it I’ve found a somewhat annoying quirk of WordPress.

There seems to be absolutely no control over p tags, even after turning off the WYSIWYG editor. Now, p tags are fine things when used properly, but it puts them around everything, including the <!--more--> quicktag.

This ends up creating a p tag around the more link, and if I try to use CSS like float, that’ll leave an empty p tag which clutters up my layout.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get WordPress to not put p tags around the more link, or failing that, styling it so it doesn’t cause layout problems?
