Oxygen Theme – Photo Gallery & Costumized header

  • Hi guys!

I am developing a website with Oxygen theme. Is there anybody that is using it also on wordpress.com, because it looks quite different on .org? I managed to make the slider work, but somehow I can not make the costumized header (altought I’ve tried form the widget section) and the photo gallery doesn’t show tiles, circles a.s.o. just like in the wordpress.com version.

PS: because of the new updates of the wordpress the slideshow gallery is unreachable. Do you know how can I make it reapear, because it looked great on .com?

    Any suggestion will be useful!

    Thank you!

    Those 2 versions are different.

The dot org one doesn’t have custom header, but it has a widget in the header area which, IMHO, is better in term of design and usage.

The tile gallery is the WP.com’s specific feature, but I guess you might get this same thing from Jetpack plugin, so just check it out.

Thanks Paulwp. Yes, I know that they are different…I’m using almost at the fullest the theme on .com, but I hoped with all the plugins available I can make it look even better on .org.
I already have jetpack installed and all features activated, but I can not see any difference in terms of layout.

Thank you again for you kind reply!

Do you mean all features that you need, or all of them available ? Jetpack is one big plugin, it’s not a good idea to have all features activated, I hope that you only activate ones that you need.

but I can not see any difference in terms of layout.

The layouts of these 2 versions of the theme looks the same, but the underline coding is different. The php inside the dot org one is using a theme framework called themehybrid, also the CSS is different too, one uses floating, the other one uses negative margins technique to float, but it looks the same.

I will try to deactivate some of the features in jetpack, maybe that is the problem.
The website is now online – http://www.diybazaar.ro – but still working on the fine tunning 🙂
PS: Feel free to give any other suggestion if you are familiar with the theme.

    Thanks again!
