Suddenly the header logo disappeared from the Mobile Menu on our page, color settings reverted to default settings and – the unfriendly part of the problem – now I can not save any settings in the Mobile Menu backend at admin.php?page=mobile-menu-options

I can set a new logo image and change options, change colors etc. and when I click “save changes”, it will show “settings saved” at the top, but all settings stay unchanged.

What might be the problem here?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

That’s strange, I would say that there is something else creating this conflict since in almost 30000 active installs there is no similar situation.

Let’s troubleshoot this by deactivating all plugins except WP Mobile Menu to see if the options are saved correctly.

If it works then activate the plugins again one by one or several at each time and repeat the save options process till figuring out what was the problematic plugin.

Need to ask a couple thing in private, can you send me an email to [support AT wpmobilemenu DOT com]

    Thanks

    Hello Rui,

the conflicting plugin is “Ad Blocker Notify Lite” and now I realized we were having the same problem with the same plugin 3 months ago. Back then, after several checks the issue finally seemed to have solved with a PHP upgrade, but now it is happening again: When ABNL is active, Mobile Menu is working only with default settings for menu header, colors, fonts etc. and they can not be changed.

I have also written to the ABNL support forum but no other conclusion. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-with-another-plugin-mobile-menu/

Since both plugins seem to work fine together on a blank WordPress, as you said back then – is it possible for an incompatibilty issue to happen with 3 plugins involved?
Which will only occur to one plugin (Mobile Menu) if two specific other plugins are installed (ABNL and an undetected other one)?

I checked for theme incompatibilty issues by using the Twentyxteen themes, the problem persists. WP debug mode showed no errors. The server is running with PHP 7.1, 128MB PHP memory, no caching.
I can not perform extensive testing on the live site as I probably would have to expect very much extra work after deactivating and activating all of our 36 other plugins. (For re-configuration…) Is there any other way to dig into the issue? Looking into the WP database?

Hello again, as the problem clearly now is the other plugins fault and its developers seem to be unwilling to investigate, I searched for and found alternatives for “Ad Blocker Notify Lite”.

Here are some that I have tested and that work fine with WP Mobile Menu: “Simple Adblock Notice”, “Ad Blocking Advisor”, “JGC AdBlocker Detector”. Interesting actually, the plugin that I dropped (ABNL) seems to be an enhanced version of the JGC plugin.

Anyway, thanks a lot for investigating!

    Nice, glad you sorted it.

I tried to contact them in several ways and they never replied, that’s a shame because together we could see what is the conflict origin.
