Now I have found something that could be confusing for the members.

    These are my shortcodes:

    [wppa type=’covers’ album=’#owner,#bpuser,0,1′]

    [wppa type=’upload’]

I can upload to all shared folders using the upload shortcode.

    Album choise

Wouldn’t it be better if only members could create new folders or images in their own member directory?

Yes, would like a new screenshot

Yes. The albums where they have right to create subs and upload to are those with the owner set to their login name, and the - public - albums.

    Step 1: verify that Advanced settings -> New -> I -> Items 34 and 40 are unchecked.

Step 2: verify that the albums as shown by the first shortcode and their children have their owner set correctly to the respective user if not, change it manually on the album admin page

Step 3: if you have access to PhPmyAdmin, change all the album owners that are set to - public - to admin

If you have no access to PhPmyAdmin, and the albums directly below album 1 have their owners set correctly, i can make you a piece of code to be placed into the maintenance settings page II item 35, to fix it.

Are the parents of the missing albums set to - separate - ?

You wrote: Step 1: verify that Advanced settings -> New -> I -> Items 34 and 40 are unchecked.

I set it to “checked” for 34 users and to “unchecked” for 40.

The albums that are still visible were intentionally set to “public” in the backend during creation, as members are also allowed to upload their images there.

However, it would be better if, in the BuddyPress profile, users only saw their own directory when uploading new albums or images.

I created an account on my website for you and you should have been notified with an email.

Then you can request a new password via password.

Then simply access your own profile.

Over Fotoalbum you can see what it looks like with the upload.

What is the status of your album Privat and Algemeine Bilder für das Forum I expect Private

What is the owner and the status of album Chopper-Motorrad and its child Ausfahrten ?
I assume everybody may see the content of these albums but they may not create or upload into them

    Thread Starter Reiner

    (@reiner1)

I hope you couldn’t see the “Private” and “General Pictures for the Forum”Allgemeine Bilder für das Forum” album in my profile.

In the backend, it says “Reiner” as the owner and “Hidden” as the status.

For all other albums where you can view or upload content, this is intentional.

I was at a meet-up or on tour with other members and wanted to give them the opportunity to upload their pictures there as well.

    No

    Suggestion:
1: I make an option to [wppa type=”upload”] to limit the albums in the selectionboxes to the ones that are owned by the current visitor.
Than they can still upload on your profile page, but only to their own albums.
Will this be sufficient, or …
    2. should – additionally – the upload box only show up on ones own profile page?

    Thread Starter Reiner

    (@reiner1)

I think variant 1 would have to be enough, although variant 2 would be more elegant.

    Install https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-photo-album-plus.9.1.07.004.zip
change shortcode on the profile page to [wppa type=”upload” bpprofile]
    and watch the magick

    Other questions tomorrow…

    Hi Jacob,

    Now it works great.

Here’s a screenshot of how I see the album as a visitor.

Here’s a screenshot of how the album looks as the owner.

The owner of the album is Heinz.

You can see in the second screenshot that when you create a new album, Heinz is immediately displayed.

    That’s great…

    Thank you Jacob.
