Overload web server with WordPress and 50000 vu/day

    Hello,

    I have a site ici with 50 000 vu/day and my Web server dédié is overload at peaks of audiences. I have wordpress2.2.1 with plugin clasic (google sitemap, simple tagging, recent posts, simple pie, simple tag). what can I do ? WordPress is adaptaed with big siteweb

    Try using WP-Cache2, for starters. This will make your pages get static caching, so that not every hit to your page has to connect to and load from the database. Big savings.

    Recent posts also uses get_permalink doesn’t it? At least the version I use did. That’s 1 extra query per recent post, which you can get rid of by hard-coding the permalink structure into the plugin, instead of using get_permalink.

    But I agree that wp-cache is the way to go. I use it (not that I need it yet) and it does make loading lightening fast, even on a shared server.

    And Google Sitemaps is a resource hog.
