Support » Fixing WordPress » outdated themes, updates not visible on themes sites

  • Hi, I have a multi-site with about 5 different themes throughout 6 sites. I’ve tried finding the updates on the themes site pages and can’t find them. My sites were created with a lot of customisation by a developer and the themes have been outdated since they were handed over to me. The developers installed virus’s in my sites and I’m currently battling them for my money back and I had to pay to have my sites reviewed manually to remove the viruses. I can’t count on the original developer and when I contact wp for help I’m told “sorry” we can’t help you with anything because you didn’t purchase wp from us. I’ve had issue after issue – had to purchase the woo-global cart so that my site’s carts can be linked (I originally asked for one site but the developers created 7 separate sites with diff carts.) I don’t have a problem paying for the themes so that they can be updated but I’ve seen that I would lose all of my customisations if I don’t do it properly. I’m at my wits end with this. Now that the new version of wp came out, half of my sites don’t seem to be functioning properly – and now I can’t import csv files! My sites are ecommerce and depend on importing csv files. I need help and no one seems to be able to tell me much except to install the child themes – which doesn’t tell me anything except to do something I can’t find the info for. I contacted the Salient theme through facebook because you’re not able to contact them otherwise (unless you have a purchase code) and they haven’t responded. The other themes I have are: Woodmart (not even on the theme page anymore), SW Maxshop, Veda (can’t find anywhere), Maya Shop and Gon. I could really use some advice – please help. 🙁

All the themes you listed (Salient, Woodmart, SW Maxshop, Veda, Maya Shop, Gon), NONE is to be found in the wordpress.org/themes/ directory,

If this was a custom theme, you may have to go back to your developer team and ask them to make the necessary change(s) to the theme.

FYI, it’s not a good idea to respond to work offers from random forum users who have read about your issues. You’re going to get people asking you on your own site and when that happens, please report that in a new topic. That person and company will be banned from this site if they seek a paid job from you.
