Support » Plugin: WPtouch Mobile Plugin » outbound links

  • Hi,

I like the theme and it looks as if it can do everything I need except…

My site is an ecommerce site and the images for “buy now” etc don’t show up which kind of makes it all redundant.

I’m using the free version and am more than happy to go up to the 5 pro version, but I need to know that these images (and therefore links) will be display’able?

    Many thanks.

    Simon

It depends why those images are not displaying. If they are powered by advanced functionality within your theme then it’s likely that WPtouch Pro can work with that functionality while the free version cannot. If it is due to a plugin conflict then resolving the conflict will be of use in either version.

Because every WordPress installation is unique due to plugins, themes, and other customizations, we are unable to predict any particular theme’s compatibility which is why every purchase of a WPtouch Pro license comes with a 7-day trial period during which you will have access to our customer support forums, documentation, and our support team.

    Thanks for the update.

Looking at this issue further it appears that the images are actually flash. I’m happy to try this with a 7 day trial, but if you know that flash images won’t show up even in pro then it would save some time around.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Simon,

Looking at this issue further it appears that the images are actually flash.

Most mobile devices (specifically iOS devices) are flash-limited. This is not a limitation of WPtouch, but of the mobile devices.

At this time there isn’t a workaround for the flash limitation. However, WPtouch Pro comes with custom shortcodes that allow you to show content in different scenarios. So essentially, you can show non-flash based buttons that only your mobile users will see without affecting what your desktop users see.
